While everybody and their mother is excited about the upcoming
Avengers movie, there seems to be a lot more hesitation about
"The Amazing Spider-Man," the latest film interpretation of the classic comic hero. Makes sense, considering the success of the previous three movies, which this one totally ignores by rebooting the story. And then there are those who read the books and will never be satisfied. And finally, there are those that make me want to strangle them, with their comparisons between this and the "Twilight" movie series, for having a young guy who looks like he belongs in the 21st century instead of the 1960's but transplanted into now, like a Brady Bunch movie situation. Regardless of what category you fall into, you're getting a new Spidey flick. I, for one, am curious about where they take this. And given his excellent performance in "The Social Network" (another dreadfully misunderstood film by many), I'm excited to see Andrew Garfield's take on teen-outcast-turned-hero Peter Parker.
